PDW: Professional/Personal Defense Weapon

What is a PDW?  The PDW is a GI style 1911, available in 4.25” or 5” railed or non-railed.  It is what we deem our entry level purchase of the firearms we manufacture.  While it will feed, shoot and extract flawlessly, you won’t find the low mass fire control system from the BLACK series of pistols, you will find the same fire control system we use on the Directed Operations Group (DOG) series of pistols.  The only difference is the trigger pull will be stock.  However, this is not a drop in value.  When custom pistols first started coming out, you’d have to scrap your entire fire control system when you decided to opt for a better trigger pull.  Not so here…we’ve added value into the pistol by giving you the hardened FCS from the DOG series of pistols.  But, as you grow with your gun, you can have your FCS tuned up.  The parts of the pistol remain the same; they’ll just receive some massaging to make the trigger pull crisp and light.  Of course if you want a light trigger pull from the beginning, items on this pistol are upgradeable for a nominal fee.

The PDW pistols come with a GI standard spring plug and the same Heavy Duty Barrel Bushing found on the DOG series.  The finish is a Tennifer style which gives excellent protection to this working gun.  The sights are black on black and upgradeable if requested.  The grip safety is nicely blended as is the single sided thumb safety.  The main spring housing is flat but can be upgraded to a lanyard style upon request.  The grips are our XS pattern.  They are similar to the Shredders, but not as aggressive, as these pistols are meant to be carried close to the body.  The Shredders have a tendency to catch on clothing, making the draw more difficult.

Our PDWs come with 25 Line Per Inch checkering which we feel is a nice compromise between the sharp 20 LPI and the subtle 30 LPI we put on our custom pieces.  This gives the shooter a nice working grip without being overly aggressive such as on our Big DOG series.
